What Others Are Saying…
Lively red-headed beauty, Carolan Deacon is rapidly gaining a notable reputation for ushering an audience into a gamut of emotion with her energetic stage presence, dynamic vocals and soul-searching lyrics. Stepping onto center stage at the famed Paramount Arts Center - a radio disc jockey boldly announced “This little gal has the best voice you’re ever going to hear!”
After watching Carolan perform in concert, I quickly pulled Carolan aside and said, “You have a rapport with the audience that I haven’t seen in a long time, you can flat sing!”

The striking red-head mimicking the angelic sculpture on the CD cover, and the Celtic cross on the back cover lulled me into the false sense that Faith was going to have a marked Irish flavor to it. Forget that. Carolan Deacon, the ‘red-head’ on the cover, delivers red-blooded American rock ‘n’ roll with equal parts passion and conviction.
As the title might imply the lyrics on this project is unabashedly Christian, exploring such evangelical themes as the sovereignty of God (“What a God”), the call to ease the suffering of our fellow man (“Let Me Be There”), the Father-heart of God (“You Are My Child”), and of course the efficacy of faith (“Faith”). While she seems most comfortable when belting out a foot stompin’ rock ‘n’ roll barnburner, Deacon exudes an easy confidence when tackling R&B as on the blues inflected, “I Know,” and she has the vocal chops to handle the tricky balance of the alt-country title cut.
There are some stylistic nods to Janis Joplin and you might catch a trace of a Joan Jett vocal lick from time to time. The entire project percolates with an indie vibe that is fresh and enjoyable without wallowing in lo-fi. There is nothing subtle about Faith. If you like your rock ‘n’ roll indie and straight up Christian this might be the CD for you.

“Carolan’s clear and soulful voice moves people in a deep and profound manner. At our Sunday church services, she earns vigorous applause from the congregations and receives standing ovations on a regular basis…I give Carolan my highest recommendation.”
